This Stuff Matters’ mission is to help people find peace and hope in God’s love and wisdom through the use of media. We use inspirational short radio spots to connect God’s truth and wisdom to people’s lives.  As we inspire life and culture change, we seek to build relationships with people online through our website and other media portals. We will teach and equip people to the end that they will flourish in every way in their relationship with God through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Tom Gray 

Pastor, Author, Founder and Board Chairman of This Stuff Matters

Tom played football at Vanderbilt University while earning both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees there.  Tom coached football and taught Management at the University of West Alabama for two years before pursuing and earning his Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee.

 

Tom currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Mars Hill Community Church in Powder Springs, GA.  He has taught Management at Kennesaw State University.He and his wife Dana, a former tennis player at the University of North Carolina, have been married for twenty-five years.  She works as an elementary school counselor.  They have three incredible children – one currently in college and two in high school.

Steve DeFrancesco joined the board of This Stuff Matters in June of 2020.  Steve is married to his high school sweetheart, Michelle.  They have been married for over 30 years and reside in Marietta, GA.  They have 2 wonderful children, Stephen and Mary Grace, who are recent Samford University graduates.  Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree from Wake Forest University in 1988 where he studied business and finance. 

 

In 1997, Steve began his commercial airline career with a major US airline and currently flies the Boeing 737.  In addition, Steve coaches high school tennis and consults in the aviation risk analysis field.  Steve has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations:  Roswell Street Baptist Church-Board of Trustees and Finance committees, Samford University-Parent Leadership Council, and Cornerstone Preparatory Academy-school board. Steve was saved at the age of 16, is a follower of Jesus Christ and is actively involved at Passion City Church.

Dennis Gomez

Dennis Gomez

Dennis C. Gomez is originally from Orange, New Jersey and graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1971. He is married to his wife Henrietta and has 3 adult children. Dennis was worked with Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook, Illinois for 36 and retired as the SR. Vice President of Human Resources. Dennis held many assignments over the years in several different departments, including Operations, Claims, Quality and Diversity and relocated several times. Dennis also sat on the Allstate Foundation Board, and the Howard University School of Insurance Advisory Board. 

 

Dennis has also sat on the following boards: Operation Boot Straps, Philadeplphia, PA. He helped to start the Lake Conty Boys and Girls Club, Lake County IL.  Lake County College, CASA and presently The 100 Black Men North Metro Atlanta and Kenwork  Kiwanis (Past President) and member of Transfiguration Catholic Church.

Todd Versteeg

Board Member

Todd VerSteeg is married to Tricia for the past 28 years.  They have four children and attend Mars Hill Community Church.  Todd has worked for Vermeer Southeast for the past thirty years, twenty of those as a business partner and currently serves as Vice President. For the past 15 years, Todd has served on the North American Vermeer Dealer Board, currently serving as Vice President.

 

In 2018, He was selected by a delegation of local legislators and mayors to represent District 4 on the ATL Transit Board, which serves portions of Cobb and Paulding Counties. The Board serves as the sole entity for coordination, planning, and dispersing of federal and state funding for transit within the jurisdiction of the 13 metro Atlanta area counties. Todd also represents the Southeast on the Associated Equipment Distributors Public Policy Council working directly with Senators and House of Representatives in Washington DC regarding public policies that affect every day Americans. He has also served on numerous church boards, building committees, and a non-profit organization serving in the Dominican Republic.

Neill Faucett

Neill Faucett

Board Member

Neill B. Faucett is a retired Managing Principal and Investment Committee member of Lubert-Adler, where he focused on new acquisitions and asset management in the Southeastern United States.  Since 1997, Lubert-Adler has invested over $8 billion in equity through a series of real estate opportunity funds.

 

Prior to joining Lubert-Adler, Mr. Faucett formed Faucett Consulting, which advised real estate clients in equity and financing transactions as well as strategic planning and business structures. Previously, he was a founding partner of the Atlanta accounting firm, Faucett Taylor & Associates where he concentrated on real estate.

 

Prior to this, he worked for the international accounting firm of Arthur Andersen. Mr. Faucett graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University. He received the President’s Award as the outstanding business school graduate and was selected as the outstanding accounting graduate.

 

Mr. Faucett serves on the boards of The Asian Christian Academy, World Outreach Fund, Calvary Children’s Home and Perspective Ministries.

Robin Burruss

Board Member

Robin Burruss grew up in the family business, Tip Top Poultry. Retired after 47 years, three years ago he continues to serve as the chairman of the board.  Robin is married to his high school sweetheart, Penny, for 49 years.

 

They have two adult daughters and seven grandchildren. Robin and Penny are members of Stonebridge Church in Marietta.  Currently he serves on the admin team and in small group ministry. His hobbies include golf and wake surfing. 

 

Robin is also a board member of the following: This Stuff Matters, Blue Skies, and Marietta Country Club.

Scott D'Antoni

Board Member

Scott D’Antoni is a follower of Jesus Christ who married his lovely high school sweetheart 27 years ago. He has three adult children and currently flies Boeing 737s for a commercial airline. As a retired USAF officer of 24 years with experience as a commander, director of operations, and executive officer, Scott possesses leadership, resourcefulness, and integrity that have withstood the test of time.

 

His guidance and direction will help ensure that This Stuff Matters influences our culture with the truth and wisdom of Jesus Christ. A member of a local Christian church, he’s shared the love of Jesus on several mission trips both stateside and abroad, volunteered for multiple local outreach ministries, facilitated discussions at his men’s ministry Bible study, and currently serves in the greeting and parking ministry at his church. He loves his family, flying, and watching his Florida Gators.

Ruth Guerrier

Director 

Ruth Guerrier is originally from San Antonio, TX. Ruth and her husband Andrew have been married for 11 years and have a 6 year old son. They are members of Mars Hill Community Church where Andrew is the Mission’s and Outreach Pastor.  Before joining MHCC Ruth worked at their previous church for 8 years. Through that time she held several positions such as the Special Event’s Director,  Executive Pastor’s Assistant, and the Children’s Director. In 2010 Ruth and Andrew started a chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Carrefour, Haiti to help bring normalcy to the youth after the earthquake. The ministry has grown to serve over 250 kids each year and is run by 12 Haitian FCA staff under their leadership.

In 2019 Ruth started her own business, Imagine Organizing, offering professional organizing services. Ruth’s experience in ministry and business will help ensure that This Stuff Matters will have the structure needed to accomplish the vision and mission of the ministry.
